Hi All,

I’m beginning to port Jackson’s site over to Flickr, so you will see scads of old photos showing up in the slideshow & etc. I’m trying to get this done and off my plate ASAP as – obviously with twins en route – I’ll have other fish to fry soon. Stay tuned!

Cheers,
PZ

Howdy Folks,

Yup: Jack lost his first tooth. He caught his own knee in the chin on Friday on the playground. I picked him up early from school with a aching jaw and a loose tooth. Curly fries cured the blues, but not the loose tooth. By Sunday when we were at the Chinese New Year Celebration at the SF Zoo, he was over the loose tooth hurting, and he yanked it on out.

See the set of images from this last weekend by clicking here.

Also included in there are some sweet shots of Emmaline and Ericka. Poor Emmaline was just getting congested when we saw her that night, and she’s now sick with pneumonia – serious stuff – and we’re all thinking good thoughts for her speedy recovery. Doh… the cutest little nipper ever!

The rest of these shots are just us goofing around gardening and living our lives. Enjoy!

Cheers,
PZ

Hey Folks,

Here’s a bunch of shots, mostly of us with Jackson, taken in January and February 2007. Click Here.

Jack got a skateboard for Christmas, and he’s been skating a bunch. There are some sweet shots of Limantour (Jack and I gave Em some much needed nap-time) and also some beauties of Jack driving the golf cart at Emily’s parents house on Superbowl Sunday. He LOVED the golf cart, man.

Enjoy!

Hi Folks,

Today, Emily and I went to get a hi-res ultrasound. Amazing is as close as I can come to describing it, but the word is inadequate to convey the emotion… it was beyond words. All of the images can be found here. A technician did most of the work, and a doctor came in a took a peek and gave us the word: they’re girls! Woo hoo! (Guess I’d better go get a shotgun to keep the boys away) The machine and software they used blew me away, even down to the way they sampled the image to ascertain the heart rate… very cool, very slick!

Everything looked fine with them, and they were fairly active. Little hearts beating at 150 and 149 bpm, which is normal. We got some sweet profile shots, and the technician was very polite and kind and, by necessity, remained a bit distant from telling us too much about what she was seeing.

The doctor pointed out the main things we should be looking for in the images the technician took, picked up the wand to the machine, zeroed-in, and said “Well, this one’s a girl,” wiggles the wand a bit more and within ten seconds he said:”This one too!” We are elated.

Cheers,
Paul

I’m setting up this blog to port Jackson Patrick’s site into this blog, and combine his images with the twins’ upcoming images via Flickr. Still just figuring out how this will best be accomplished combining technologies I’ve not worked with a lot before… here’s a link to a slideshow of flickr images: flickr slideshow 1

And here’s a shot of the twins (at right). The top image shows two distinct sacks with a defined separation between two separate placenta?s. In these two sacks you see, on the left, a cross section of ?thing1?s skull viewed from above that looks like the inside of a nut. In the far right of that skull you see the medulla oblongata pretty clear. On the right of that top image, there?s a straight on face shot of ?thing2? looking out like kilroy from the placenta. The bottom image is thing1 laying on their side, head to the right, with the hands and feet clearly visible. They danced and kicked a bunch, and we were able to clearly see the hearts beating and arms and legs grooving around in there.
